About Prenton Penguins

 Welcome to Prenton Penguins!

Our nursery is dedicated to offering exceptional care and   education for children from 2 years old up to school age.

We are delighted to introduce you to our nursery, located within the building of Prenton Primary School. Our nursery is staffed by fully qualified practitioners who are dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for your child.

Though we operate independently from the school, we maintain strong links with Prenton Primary, allowing us to accept children from outside the usual catchment area. Our close relationship with the school ensures a seamless integration, including the use of the school hall for physical activities, promoting your child's overall development.

To help prepare your child for full-time education, we have a programme of visits to Foundation 2 for familiarisation and storytime during the summer term. This helps ensure a smooth transition and makes the experience enjoyable and exciting for your child.

We look forward to welcoming you and your child to our nursery and becoming a part of their educational journey.

Holistic Education

Fun Games

At our nursery, we believe that fun games are essential for the holistic development of young children. We offer a wide range of engaging activities that encourage learning through play. Our outdoor playground is the perfect space for games like hide-and-seek, obstacle courses, and tag, helping children build physical skills and teamwork.

Indoors, we provide interactive games such as building with blocks, role-playing, and storytelling sessions that spark creativity and imagination. We also incorporate educational games that enhance cognitive abilities, like memory matching and puzzle solving. These fun games are designed to keep children excited about learning, foster social interactions, and develop critical thinking skills, all in a joyful and nurturing environment.

Expert Staff

Prenton Penguins pride ourselves on having a team of highly qualified and dedicated practitioners who are passionate about early childhood education. Each member of our staff is carefully selected for their expertise, experience, and genuine love for working with young children. They are committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where every child can thrive. Our practitioners continually engage in professional development to stay updated with the latest educational practices, ensuring your child receives the highest quality care and learning experiences. With their warm and approachable demeanour, our staff build strong relationships with both children and parents, fostering a supportive community that prioritises each child's unique needs and development.

Active Playing

Active playing is a crucial component of children's development, blending physical activity with learning experiences. It encourages youngsters to engage in imaginative and cooperative play, promoting physical fitness, social skills, and cognitive growth. By participating in activities such as role-playing, group games, and outdoor adventures, children learn to communicate effectively, solve problems, and think creatively. Active playing also fosters a sense of curiosity and exploration, allowing children to connect with their environment and peers in meaningful ways. Overall, it serves as a vital element in nurturing well-rounded, healthy, and happy individuals.

Learning

Learning for younger children is a vibrant and dynamic process, integral to their growth and development. It involves acquiring knowledge, skills, and positive attitudes through a variety of engaging experiences, both in and out of the classroom. Whether it's through play, hands-on activities, or interaction with their surroundings, learning helps children develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and social skills. Encouraging curiosity and a love of discovery, learning empowers children to explore and understand the world around them. By fostering these foundational skills early on, we set the stage for lifelong learning and personal growth.

Ofsted Inspection

To comply with Government legislation, all registered settings are inspected under the OFSTED procedure. The Nursery Inspection Report undertaken by OFSTED follows a set procedure for every inspected group. It is based on the strengths and weaknesses of the Group and identifies key issues for action.

The nursery setting at Prenton Primary School was taken over by Penguins Nurseries in early 2013 and the latest inspection took place in March 2024, where we achieved an OUTSTANDING inspection judgement.

An Outstanding rating means Prenton Penguins are highly effective in delivering provision that meets the needs of all children well. This ensures children are ready for the next stage of their learning.
